The Hickok Family - Our son-in-law Ty aka Mary!

I listened to this sermon on Mary & Martha today and I find it helps so much understand why I jump from one activity to another!  It also helps me to see when my son-in-law, Ty used to call me Martha all the time, he pegged me to a tee.  I’m so Martha could be my theme show.   Then again, I never called my son in law Mary, as I should have, because he is a Mary.  

We all fall into a category of Mary or Martha….or Marv or Marty, if those female tags bother you, however, the personality is the same.  I’m thankful that Mark Driscoll is also a Martha like me!!  Somehow that makes me think my Martha personality is somewhat redeeming. 

Bottom line is however, we need both Mary and Martha in our lives to be all God wants us to be.  That’s why God usually gifts a spouse with the opposite spouse in a marriage relationship.  God is always at work to make us a better person, to be like Him, not just Mary or Martha.  Sometimes you are married to the same, two Mary’s or Two Martha’s.  That can be a little tricky, in that you can burn each other out.  We don’t need to become like either, just LIKE HIM.    Listen to this message to learn to be more like our Heavenly Father. 

We must put our Mary time in as a daily priority and then follow it up with Martha time, second.   Thank AGAIN Mark for the reminder to realign, yet again.
